My favourite moon picture1173 viewsImage of the moon taken at 12x zoom. Then cropping around the moon, and enlarging. I also did some minor adjustment of levels. Not bad for a point and shoot camera.

70 frames aligned and summed together (first image in sequence)1141 viewsThe first image in the sequence of images aligned and summed. It's a very noisy image, and most stars can't be seen even if one plays with levels, due to the large ammount of noise. I put this image with a higher gamma in the album as well, where it's more clear how noisy the original image really is.

70 frames aligned and summed together1115 viewsThis is the result of aligning 70 frames captured at ISO200, 8sec, f/2.8. with my Panasonic FZ20.
Used a simple tripod and a remote shutter. Alignment was done by own software partly written in C, and partly in matlab (i'm using octave). sourcecode will be released when I'm done with my thesis.
It looks way better after adjusting levels apropriately as in some of my other photos. Don't forget to view the first image of the 70 frame sequence, and compare the difference.

The moon behind some thin clouds.1086 viewsUncropped 12x zoomed image of the moon. I like the effect of the thin clouds, so I enhanced it a little by increasing gamma slightly. Then resized from 2560x1920 down to 1024x768 (just as most of my images).
